Bob Hanfling, Chairman Emeritus & Founder
Bob is an experienced manager and consultant with more than 40 years of corporate and public-sector experience. His primary focus has been on energy policy, nuclear non-proliferation issues and technology and energy businesses. Bob has had a wide-ranging career as an independent business consultant, corporate manager and CEO with energy and technology companies. He has also held senior positions with the U.S. Department of Energy. His technical expertise is based in nuclear and chemical engineering.
Robert Fenwick-Smith, Co-Chairman of the Board
Robert is founder and managing director at Aravaipa Ventures, an investment fund focused exclusively on green and sustainable start-up companies in Colorado. He also serves as Chairman of AXIT AG, the German leader in cloud-based supply chain management. He co-founded and led Romaco Group, a pharmaceutical packaging and processing equipment rollup, to $200 million sales and a successful exit in 2001.
Jim Speyer, Co-Chairman of the Board
Jim joined Silver Bullet’s Board of Director’s in 2012. He is also currently a Board Member for National Park Trust, focusing on raising money to purchase private lands located around national parks and wilderness areas. He is also the Managing Director and Senior Advisor at Navigant Consulting, where he is responsible for concentrating on the impact of environmental regulations on energy industries. Jim has tremendous experience and knowledge with energy, working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, White House Energy Staff and the Department of Energy. Jim also spent time in the Peace Corps, volunteering in Venezuela, helping to expand solid waste service throughout the city of La Victoria. Jim is happily married and a father of three.
Tim Reeser, Board Member
Tim has tremendous experience in the area of technology as a Senior Technology Executive, serial entrepreneur and venture investor in transportation, software, and cleantech technology. Beyond his role as a Board Member at Silver Bullet, Time is also currently the Venture Director at Aravaipa Ventures, an investment firm that invests in Colorado-based efficiency tech companies. Tim is the President and Co-Founder of Lightning Hybrids, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of hybrid transportation technology in the truck and bus sectors. Tim has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University.
Scott Lang, Board Member
Scott has more than 20 years experience advising private and publicly held companies in mergers and acquisitions, private and public capital raises, and financial restructuring across a broad range of industries. Scott is also head of City Capital Investors, the merchant banking affiliate of City Capital Advisors. Scott is a member of the Board of Directors of UHY Advisors, Inc., the Cafritz Company, and the Marwen Foundation. Representative clients Scott has advised include Ingersoll International, Signature Graphics, Technical Concepts, UHY Advisors, AMF, Morton’s of Chicago and AAR Corp. He was named Middle Market Dealmaker of the Year by The M&A Advisor in 2003 and Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in 2002. Scott joined the Silver Bullet Board of Directors in 2014.
John Jeppson, Board Member
John joined Silver Bullet in December of 2014 to contribute his experience and knowledge in international business and sales. John co-founded the National System of Savings & Loans in Peru, raising money and financing the construction of 400,000 homes over a ten year period. He is also a founding director of Vanguard Mutual Funds that saw assets grow from $900 million to $3 trillion over 40 years. John has been involved with other companies such as EPI, KBI BioPharma, Educator Biscuit, Cosmotek, Military Supply Corp., Fussform, Laurel Industrial Textiles, Streeter & Quarles, and Fitch. John received a B.A. and Doctor of Law Degree from Harvard and is married to Wendy Benchley and is a father of 5 and grandfather of 7.

Brad Walsh, CFO/COO
Brad is a corporate finance executive with 19 years of experience in building, leading, and advising corporations through complex integrations, growth initiatives, synergy savings and financial reporting for both the healthcare and manufacturing industries. He has strong financial planning and analysis expertise incorporated with extensive knowledge in both international accounting and SOX requirements. Brad is an excellent leader with a solid record of contributions resulting in improved financial performance, heightened productivity, and enhanced internal controls. Brad joined Silver Bullet in January 2016.
Chris Lone, Field Technical Support
Chris joined Silver Bullet in July 2013 after working closely with Chief Technology Officer and Inventor of the Silver Bullet for several years. Chris has over 30 years of experience in construction and maintenance for both commercial and residential entities and has vast knowledge on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, cabling, phone and various other systems. Chris proudly served as a Sargent in the U.S. Army, 82nd airborne division, during Desert Storm.
Doug White, VP of Sales – Agricultural Services
Doug has been working in the Agriculture industry for over 30 years. From working with feedlots to irrigation to product distribution, his many years of experience is unmatched by most. Doug attended Colorado State University where he began his career in Agriculture and eventually led him to Silver Bullet where he began in April 2013. Doug and his wife also own and operate an Agricultural Distributorship that supplies dairy, beef, hog, and chicken producers with various livestock products.
Jake Smith, Manufacturer Representative – Agricultural Services
Jake began working at Silver Bullet in January 2015. He has a background ranging from industrial sales to construction, but has always found his way back to agriculture. He grew up helping his dad run a cattle herd and eventually managing a local college farm which had a 250 cow operation. Jake also managed a 300 sow hog operation in southern Arkansas where he realized the importance of drinking water quality for livestock animals and has devoted his time to sharing his knowledge with other producers in the agriculture industry.
Jana Robinson, Regional VP of Sales
Jana received her B.S. in Poultry Science from the University of Arkansas where she focused on water quality and poultry water line management. In 2006 she began working for Simmons Foods, creating an extensive water quality program for their growers – individualized for every farm to include mineral and bacterial analysis, water line management, water system management and farm-specific recommendations. In 2013 Jana stated working for Cobb-Vantress, a leading poultry breeder company in the U.S.. She worked two years on a Pedigree farm in Missouri before working as a service technician in grandparent production for South West farms. Jana joined Silver Bullet in March 2016.
Jarrod Fort, Office Manager
Jarrod joined Silver Bullet in November 2012 after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder where he double-majored in Psychology and Communication. While working with a rural community in Kenya in 2012, Jarrod developed a deep understanding of the water problems faced my millions around the world. Jarrod is dedicated to finding solutions to water crises both locally and globally.
Jeremy Scherr, Marketing Manager
Prior to joining the Silver Bullet Water Treatment Company in September 2016 as the Marketing Manager, Jeremy was the Director of Digital Media and Client Relations at Informa Economics Group (IEG). His responsibilities at IED included conceptualization, execution, marketing, sales, and customer service for a full suite of online agribusiness and energy information services. During his 17-year tenure at IEG, Jeremy also held the positions of Consultant and Senior Editor, where he research and managed proprietary agribusiness and energy consulting projects for clients such as the American Soybean Association, Cobank, the Embassy of Australia, Growmark and the Agriculture Livestock Industries Corporation of Japan. Jeremy graduated in 1997 from the University of Arizona with a BA in Political Science and a minor in History and completed two years of graduate work at San Diego State University with a focus on International Political Eeconomy.
John Heitbrink, Manufacturer Representative – Agricultural Services
Born and raised on a Dairy farm in Ohio, John has been involved in Agriculture for 35 years. A graduate from the Ohio State University, John has worked in feed sales to the swine, dairy, and beef industries and he has many years of experience working with farmers, veterinarians, dealers, and corporations. John has worked in sales, sales management, dealer development, and business development. John’s passion for livestock productions has brought him to the Silver Bullet team. John lives in Minster, Ohio with his wife, Sheila, and their two children.
Joyce Huang, Process Application Engineer – Science & Engineering
Joyce is an engineer with a background in water and wastewater treatment processes and design. She received her Professional Engineering License in June 2016. Prior to joining Silver Bullet, she worked for a consulting firm and assisted with a range of projects including water quality analysis, water treatment and pump station design and pipeline and remediation for municipal and industrial clients. Joyce received her MS degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder and her BS degree from the University of Florida.
Kira Chesak, Director of LDW Operations
Kira graduated from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with degrees in International Management and French. After graduation, she joined the Peace Corps and taught business skills to Senegalese entrepreneurs. After two years, she returned to the US and moved to Colorado in search of a career with a ‘green’ company. Kira has worked in support management in various industries, but her passion is here working for this innovative company, changing the future of water treatment around the world.
Kurt Wagner, VP of Operations
Kurt is the Vice President of Operations at Silver Bullet. He is a graduate from the Colorado School of Mines with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and minors in Management and Environmental Science. His diverse background includes over 25 years of operational excellence in gold processing, water treatment, manufacturing, financial and service industries. His sweet spot is using LEAN manufacturing principles and developing and tacking KPIs to improve operational efficiency, increase revenues while decreasing costs, and improving the quality and reliability of products and services. Kurt is an avid outdoorsman and is proud to be working for a company with a passion for environmentally sustainability.
Kyle Lisabeth, Director of Business Development – Horticulture
Kyle’s devotion to greater water treatment technologies stems from his passion for the outdoors. Kyle has participated in and led river expeditions in such places as Alaska, Africa, Asia, South America and most recently, the Grand Canyon. After graduating from the University of Texas – Austin, Kyle gained five years of international water management experience, managing projects involving the treatment and reuse of municipal wastewater in the US and in Mexico, supervising agricultural wastewater treatment and beneficial reuse applications in various parts of Latin America, and overseeing the treatment of water in the oil and gas market. His focus on maintaining sound natural resource management practices is what led him to Silver Bullet in early 2014.
Lisa Goodman, Sales Support
Lisa joined silver Bullet in 2013. She has previous experience in supporting sales & marketing teams in the restaurant/hospitality industry as well as the higher education and call center sectors. Lisa moved to Colorado for its natural resources, so needless to say she is excited to be working for a company that is environmentally conscious. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas.
Mallory Zimmerer, Laboratory Supervisor
Born and raised in rural Wyoming, Mallory’s passion for animals and the environment have developed into a career. In 2009 she graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and a minor in Ago-ecology. Mallory has extensive laboratory experience, holding positions involved with water, soil, and plant vegetation. She also has extensive knowledge in the oil and gas industry, working for both 609 Consulting and EOG Resources. Mallory joined Silver Bullet with a passion and drive toward quality results and unmatched performance standards.
Rosa Rivas, Controller
Rosa graduated from Metro State University with a double major in Psychology and Business Management. She has 16 years of Accounting background in various industries. Rosa has been an officer for the We Love U Foundation whose core value is making this world a better place and she loves working for companies who make a positive impact in the world, both socially and environmentally. Rosa joined the Silver Bullet team in March 2015.
Scott Magill, Senior Sales Executive and Product Manager
Scott is perhaps the most experienced in the field of water treatment at Silver Bullet. He has experience as a sales manager with NALCO and Buckman Laboratories, among others. His experience in water chemistry is advanced and he has a background in microbiology. Scott is knowledgeable of industrial chemicals, working both domestically and internationally with water treatment producers worldwide.
Taylor Robinson, Project Manager – Science and Engineering
Prior to joining the Silver Bullet Water Treatment Corporation as the Technical Services Manager, Taylor was the Laboratory Director at Concord Energy Produced Water Services division. His responsibilities included a technical capacity in the laboratory, sales, and field operations. He worked closely with with the engineering team to design and develop mobile treatment technologies for reuse applications in the oil and gas industry. Taylor was also previously employed with the Global Technical Services team in the Water Solutions department of Halliburton Energy Services. His focus was in electrocoagulation and ultraviolet water treatment applications for reuse in fracturing fluid development and technical solutions on a global scale. Taylor attended Mesa State College where he obtained a BS degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
Tony Ruffini, Director of Science and Engineering
Tony is an engineer and water chemist with 15 years of experience in water treatment design, testing, and consulting on municipal, industrial, and agricultural water process systems. Tony holds a degree in civil engineering from Florida Atlantic University with graduate work focused in environmental process and water treatment. He is a well reputed subject matter professional for multiple treatment processes, including separations, biological, disinfection, RO and solids handling. Tony has a strong record as a leader, project manager, and problem solver. He joined Silver Bullet in February 2016.
