The Silver Bullet℠ Cooling Tower System is comprised of:
We accomplish by inducing mono-atomic oxygen into the circulating water supply. Some of the mono-atomic oxygen then bonds to the water molecule and forms hydrogen peroxide. Although the amount of hydrogen peroxide is small (0.5 to 3 parts per million), it will control the bacteria in the system. Because we circulate continuously, we can effectively keep the bacteria and bio-film down to a level that will not interfere with heat transfer efficiency.
Some of the mono-atomic oxygen remains dissolved in water. Since this mono-atomic oxygen also carries a high negative charge, it also causes the circulating water to have a greater negative charge than the surrounding pipes, chillers and cooling tower. This phenomenon attracts calcium which has a positive charge, into the water rather than allowing it to deposit on the surrounding surfaces.
The glass bead filter media will also pick up this negative charge. This will attract organic and mineral molecules which will allow us to filter out most contaminates in the system. By eliminating any potential food source, we can control Legionella laden protozoa, viruses and bacteria.
Most people are concerned with their heat transfer surface. They will even acidize their condenser tube bundles if calcium deposits build up. This isolated action on the condenser tubes can leave the rest of the system full of calcium deposits. Because our system literally dissolves and attracts calcium back into the tower water supply, we show higher levels of dissolved calcium on your monthly service reports. Our product will slowly clean and de-calcify your system. The time frame is determined by the amount of calcium that was previously deposited before our system became operational.
Our technology can also de-alkalize resulting in a lower tower pH depending on the type of alkalinity in the makeup water.
With traditional chemical treatment programs you will generally find that the total hardness in the tower water is a combination of calcium ppm plus the magnesium ppm. For example: If make-up water total hardness is 200 ppm, with calcium level of 150 ppm, then the magnesium will be 50 ppm. The corresponding tower water at 4 cycles will have a total hardness level of 800 ppm with 600 ppm calcium. The remaining magnesium would be 200 ppm.
The Silver Bullet℠ system will provide improved results. For example: Using the same makeup water analysis as cited above, with a 200 ppm total hardness, 150 ppm calcium and 50 ppm magnesium, a 4 cycle tower using our system will test differently. We will show a total hardness of 700 ppm with 600 ppm calcium (it remains dissolved) and 100 ppm magnesium. Our system reduces the magnesium by precipitating a portion of it (in this case, 100 ppm) at the filter. This reduction in magnesium also leads to reduced tower water conductivity which allows you to operate at higher cycles of concentration.
In summary, if the conductivity meter for bleed-off is not changed, you will automatically be running at higher cycles of concentration and saving water. Our product can easily improve your system's operation by at least two cycles under most conditions.
