The Silver Bullet Corporation's Contribution to the USGBC LEED™ Certification Program

The Silver Bullet℠ system is designed to provide an alternative to traditional chemical water treatment programs. These programs typically use toxic and hazardous chemicals to provide biological control, scale control and corrosion control. These chemicals are potentially hazardous to the operators of the cooling towers, and they also need to be drained to the sewer system making the water carried with it useless for any other purpose.

Water Efficiency

Our program focuses on water reuse and provides water savings to our customers. Our system produces hydrogen peroxide in small quantities (0.5 to 3 parts per million) which will later breakdown into water and oxygen. We provide better biological control and scale control while allowing the bleed-off waste water to be used for other purposes such as irrigation.

Energy Efficiency

Our technology sequesters and controls dissolved calcium in the water. This process not only prevents scale deposits, but will re-dissolve calcium deposits that are already present in the system. In addition, our hydrogen peroxide generation will control biological growth. Since we continuously circulate and continually produce this powerful disinfectant, bacteria cannot grow or be used as a food source for other organisms including protozoa which house the legionella bacteria. Traditional systems rely on sporadic addition of biocides. Obviously, preventing a buildup is much more energy efficient from a bio-film standpoint than periodic biocide addition. A traditional system may see as many as 100,000 colony forming units (cfu). Our system will run below 1000 cfu, typically below 100 cfu and quite often below 10 cfu.

Elimination of Toxic Materials - With our program biocides, scale, and corrosion inhibitors can be eliminated. This will eliminate the need for your staff to order, transport, store, mix and handle these toxic and hazardous chemicals.
